Acceptable Use Policy
The rules for using Celeris, for you and your End Users.
This Acceptable Use Policy applies to every use of the Celeris Service, by you and by the End Users of your applications. It forms part of our Terms of Service. You are responsible for making sure your End Users follow it.
Illegal and harmful content
You must not use the Service to send, store or distribute:
- content that is illegal, or that facilitates illegal activity;
- child sexual abuse material, or any content that sexualizes minors (we report this to the appropriate authorities);
- content that infringes intellectual property rights or misappropriates trade secrets;
- threats, harassment, hate speech or incitement to violence; or
- fraudulent, deceptive or phishing content, or content that impersonates another person or organization.
Privacy and consent
You must not use the Service to collect, track or transmit personal information without a lawful basis and any consent that is required. For example, you must not operate covert surveillance or stalkerware. You must not send unsolicited bulk messages in breach of anti-spam laws such as Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) or the US CAN-SPAM Act.
Security
You must not:
- distribute malware or ransomware, or run botnet command-and-control or relay stolen data over the Service;
- access, or try to access, accounts, systems or networks without authorization;
- probe, scan or test the Service for vulnerabilities without our written permission; or
- attack the Service or others with denial-of-service traffic, or run load tests beyond your Plan limits without our written permission.
If you find a security vulnerability, report it to support@useceleris.com with "Security" in the subject line, and don't disclose it publicly until we have fixed it.
Service integrity
You must not:
- get around Plan limits, rate limits, usage metering or billing, including by creating multiple Free accounts;
- resell, sublicense or provide raw access to the Service as a standalone messaging service without our written agreement (building your own product on Celeris is, of course, fine);
- reverse engineer the Service, except where the law or an open-source licence expressly allows it; or
- interfere with other customers' use of the Service.
High-risk and regulated uses
You must not use the Service:
- in systems where a failure could lead to death, personal injury or severe environmental damage, such as medical devices, life support or the control of vehicles, aircraft, weapons or nuclear facilities;
- to transmit protected health information regulated by HIPAA or payment card data regulated by PCI DSS; or
- if you are a person subject to Canadian, US, UN, EU or UK sanctions, from a comprehensively sanctioned region, or for any end use that export control laws prohibit.
Enforcement
We do not routinely monitor Customer Content, but we investigate suspected violations. If you or your End Users violate this policy, we may:
- remove access;
- suspend or terminate your Account under our Terms; and
- cooperate with law enforcement.
We will act in proportion to the seriousness of the violation. Where practicable, we will contact you first.
Reporting abuse
To report abuse of the Service, email support@useceleris.com with "Abuse" in the subject line. Include as much detail as you can, such as timestamps, the application or channel involved, and any evidence.
